DuVALL, LUCILLE CLARK "LUCY" Lucille DuVall passed away peacefully December 26 at the age of 86. Lucy was born Ada Lucille Clark in Clarion, Iowa on May 5, 1926.She moved to California with her mother when she was a little girl. Lucy graduated from UCLA with a degree in History in 1948. She met Thomas O. DuVall in 1950 at Aerojet in Azusa where they were both employed. They were married later that year. The DuValls moved to San Diego in 1958. raising two children in Point Loma. Lucy went back to school when her children were older and received a Masters degree in American History from USD in 1979. She was a respected local historian, having literally written the books on San Diego pioneers Louis Rose and William Kettner. Lucy worked in the History Department at UCSD as the Graduate Coordinator for 17 years. Lucy had a lovely alto voice and sang in choral groups and church choirs all her life. Lucy loved to travel and was a wonderful correspondent keeping in touch with friends around the world. She was a long time member of the Colonial Dames and the P.E.O. Lucy was loved by all who were lucky enough to know her and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children Sharon and Eric, daughter-in-law Janice, grand daughters Gwendolyn and Nicolette, grandson-in-law Reuben, great- grandson Rowan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. A Memorial Service for Lucy will be held on Saturday, January 26th, at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 625 Pennsylvania Ave., at the corner of Sixth Ave. in Hillcrest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the McColl Family Health Center at St. Paul's.
