Johnson, Pastor Cliff VISTA / MENIFEE -- A "Celebration of Life" Service for Pastor Cliff Johnson will be held at Eagle Ridge Church, 25891 Holland Road, Menifee, CA at 10:00 am on Friday, February 15th. Interment follows at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif. Immediately following the graveside service, we will return to Eagle Ridge Church for lunch and fellowship. Pastor Cliff was born February 27, 1943 in Appleton, Minn., son of Clifford and Helen Johnson. Cliff was a 1961 graduate of Appleton High School, Appleton, Minn. He served in the Marine Corps from July 1961 - July 1965. While stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif., he met his wife, Pamela (nee Diedel) of Carlsbad. Cliff began working in the field of Chemical Dependency Counseling in 1977. He attended the University of Minnesota and in 1981, he helped establish "Power House," an Extended Care Facility for Adolescent Boys, in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Cliff and his wife Pam were married in Carlsbad, Calif., on November 17, 1990. Cliff retired from the Department of Defense in February 2009 after 20 years in the position of Social Science Analyst (Addictions Counselor) at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital, Counseling Active Duty & Retired Military and their families. In 2007, just before retirement, Cliff was called into ministry, devoting his time to "Celebrate Recovery," a Scripture based 12-Step Program. Celebrating 37 years in recovery himself he had a passion for people who were hurting and needing recovery. Cliff held the position of Associate Pastor/ Counselor at Eagle Ridge Church in Menifee, Calif., since 2009. Cliff is survived by his wife Pamela Buffington-Johnson; brother, Jay Johnson (Terry ); sister, Julie Nilson; eight children; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
