Thomas Richard Bossert Obituary
Bossert, Thomas Richard SAN DIEGO -- Tom Bossert died May 5, 2013 at home having been diagnosed with cancer in January. He lived a blessed life and was in good health and active until a stroke in 2006 curtailed his active life style. Tom was born March 5, 1923 in Seattle, Washington. In 1936 his family moved to San Diego. He attended La Jolla High School and graduated in 1941. In September of that year he entered the University of Southern CA on a football scholarship. In May of 1943 he entered the Army and served in Germany during WW 2. In 1949 his family established a sheet metal shop in Pacific Beach where he and his brother, Albie worked and it became a well known fixture there. He later acquired property in Kearny Mesa, built a small industrial park and moved the business to that area under the name of Bossert Inc. In 1986 he closed down the business and retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert (Al) and Helen, his brother Albie, his daughter Lynn. He is survived by his wife Jacquie Bossert, his son Dr. Steve Bossert and wife Patou, grandchildren Kathleen and Chris Bossert and wife Betsy and grandson, Ian Wilson. Also feeling his loss are Jacquie's daughter Robin Johnson, granddaughter Vanessa and husband Camille Antaky and great- grandsons, Anthony and Evan Antaky. By his wishes, a party will be held in June as he wanted everyone to be happy and celebrate "beach style". His ashes will be scattered at sea.
