Dolores "Dee" Flanders Obituary
Flanders, Dolores "Dee" ESCONDIDO -- Dee, Dolores Rebecca Flanders (also known as Dee Minor and Dee Minor Horne), passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Born in Norwalk, Calif., she was a resident of Escondido for more than fifty years. She wore many hats (wife, mother of five, grandmother, friend, mentor, and more) and was perhaps best known, professionally, as a Real Estate Broker; her career spanning over thirty years. Dee will be missed by many, including her husband, Richard W. Flanders; children: Steven (Patricia) Minor of McCall, Idaho; Greg (India) Minor of Escondido, Emmie Shannon, also of Escondido, and Britton Minor of Dana Point, Calif. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren, Lori (Brandon) Frank of Mission Viejo, Calif., John Roth of Ladera Ranch, Calif., Nolan Adair, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Tobias and Kassedi Graefensteiner of Dana Point, Calif. Hearing of Dee's passing, friends have written the family expressing their gratitude for a woman who always had an encouraging word; a person who told many, "To thine own self be true." She was the kind of person who gave to others in need without telling another soul about it. Countless "thank you for your generosity" cards have been found among her treasured keepsakes. Services to celebrate Dee's life will be held at 1 p.m. on March 23, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, 351 S. Kalmia St., Escondido with a reception following. All friends and family are welcome and encouraged to attend. No flowers please. Donations in Dee's name may be made to: P.E.O. Chapter SL c/o Anita Peterson 29501 Castle Creek Ln. Escondido, CA 92026-5928
