Obituary Condolences

NEUBERT, DOROTHY FRANCES Beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, died in El Cajon, California, on December 20, 2012, three months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Dorothy was 69 when, as she wished, she passed peacefully in her beloved home. Dorothy was born on December 14, 1943, in Kirkintilloch, Scotland. The youngest of the four daughters born to Hugh and Ellen O'Raw, at age 20, she left Scotland and joined two of her older sisters in South Pasadena, California. Shortly thereafter, Dorothy met the love of her life, her husband of 46 years, Jerry Neubert. Dorothy's life was characterized by a remarkable energy and enthusiasm for many things. She loved to socialize and could light up a room with her sparkling and outgoing personality, but she was equally happy spending hours alone with a book. Dorothy and Jerry took great pleasure in their travels around the world, but also loved being at home enjoying the beautiful view from their backyard. Some of Dorothy's fondest memories were of the years they spent at Pennsylvania State University, while Jerry pursued his PhD in physics. Upon learning that she had terminal cancer, Dorothy said her only regret was that she would not live to see her 50th wedding anniversary. Dorothy is survived by her husband Jerry, her sisters Evaline Brice and Muriel Gallagher, nieces Elaine Brice Kuli and Michele Brice Menton, and nephews Gerry Gallagher and Martin Gallagher, as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Ella Annese. Services will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, on Monday, January 7, at 1 p.m.
