Harper, Emilia Eligia Delgado Enciso 11/30/1904 ~ 04/28/2014 SAN DIEGO -- At the age of 104 with family present, the Lord called her home. She died of natural causes and was of sound mind to the end. As a little girl she saw her father, Rutillo Delgado, who was in charge of the Rail Road in Mexico and a Morse Code expert, assist U.S General John J. Pershing, in his attempt to capture Pancho Villa, the commanding General of the Mexican Revolutionaries who were waging war in and around U.S. border towns. Emilia was of Victorian formal manners, and until she died, a meticulously sharp dresser, no matter the occasion; a hair appointment was reason enough to look her best. Her positive attitude and warm hearted personality would brighten anyone's day. On June 14, 1930, in Nogales Arizona, she married Anthony H. Harper Sr. "Tony", (10/04/1903 ~ 07/25/1971); Tony's family were natives of Harpersfield New York; and later, Harpersfield Ohio. His sixth great grandfather was Col. Alexander Harper, who served in battle under General George Washington. See www.newsmediamarkets. com/jamesharper/. As a young boy, Tony, with other men defended against indian attacks, and was a World War l veteran. Emilia and Tony had two sons, Tony Jr., a successful mortgage banker and building contractor and Alexander Anthony Harper, a securities white collar crime trial attorney, who on 8/19/61 married Edna Mercedes Moreno, Emilia's most attentive caretaker over the past 4.1/2 years. Emilia left four grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, 13 great- great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews: Tony Harper Jr and Elizabeth's children: Ranny and Kim Harper and children: Lena and Doug Meserve and children: Rohan, Riley, Sophie and Cormac; Melanie and Michael Rojas and children: Vincent, Vanessa, Dominick and Anthony; Danielle and Kenny Gray; Carly Harper, Ryan Harper, Madison Harper, Charlee DeSa, Cody Nickelson; Celeste Collins and children: Louie Aziz, Molly Cox and her children: Autumn and Kendal; Mavis and Shaun Thompson and children: Tyler and Miles; Miles (deceased) Tony III and Margo Harper and children: Brittany and Trevor Andrews and son: Clayton; Anthony Harper IV, Sydney and Aaron McGregor; Barbara Harper. Descendants of Emilia's brother, Manuel Delgado (Deceased) and Lucile Rutledge (Deceased): Manuel Delgado Jr. (Deceased) and Lois Villars and children: Celene and Marc Oken and children: Christine, Alise and Lucile; Odette and Gregory Scovel and children: Greg Jr. and Gigi Scovel and children: Isabella and Emilia; Christina and Bryan Hepner and children: Finnigan and Keegan; Catherine Clara Scovel; Lisa Elena Delgado; John Rutledge Delgado and Susan Staley and children: Emily Elizabeth Key and Jeff and children: David and Matthew; Ted Shell Delgado; Robert Delgado and Miwako Hosoi and children: Robert Delgado Jr. and Marliese and child: Alexander Delgado; Christopher Jiro Delgado and Susan; Nana Marie Delgado Coggin and children: Chyna Byrd, Noah Coggin, and Anna Coggin.
