Obituary Condolences

McCUNE JR., HARRY ALBERT January 3, 1940 to January 2, 2013 Known as H.A. during his youth in Beaver, Penn., Harry graduated from Penn State with a degree in Civil Engineering. After several years in the field, with twelve bridges to his name, he moved to a more fitting calling--an MA in Philosophy from San Francisco State. An avowed atheist and scholar, Harry's studies led him to both India and Pakistan on Fulbright Scholarships to further his investigation of the Humanities and World Religions. Traveling the world many times over collecting lifelong friends, Harry balanced a passion for the enlightened word with equal measure gritty experience to inspire his students during his irreverent 30+ year tenure at Grossmont Community College. Preceded in death by his wife Janet Ayres and their sweet dog Mycroft, Harry is survived by his children Letitia Marie, Matthew Colin, Julian Glenn, Kelsey Marguerite, his grandchildren Veronica Mae Haakonson and James Urs McCune Magner as well as a Dickensian cast of characters all drawn to the pedantic, paradoxical paradigm of our patriarch. "There was never a time when I did not exist, nor you... Nor is there any future in which we shall cease to be." -Bhagavad-Gita A celebration of Harry's life and legacy will take place later this year at his beloved Miss Havisham's Ranch.
