SANCHEZ, ISAIAS H. Isaias H. Sanchez, 89 years old. Passed away January 9, 2013. Born in Edna, Texas. Survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Herlinda Sanchez and daughter Sarah (Bob) Kauffman, Serafin Sanchez, Isaias V. Sanchez (Tammy), Olga (Jim) Sorensen, Anita Sanchez, Linda (Art) Valdez, Dolly (Bill) Gallagher. Isaias lived in Imperial Beach, CA since 1957. Preceded in death by his youngest son, Ismael (Kelly) Sanchez. Parents Serafin and Barbarita two brothers and three sisters. Served in the United States Army during World War II, occupation of Japan under General McArthur, Atomic War Vet Worked at North Island for 37 years, Sweetwater Union High School District 10 years. Ass. Pastor along with Mens and youth councelor in Texas. He helped establish a Church and an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico preached both in Texas and California, IB United Methodist Church. Sunday School Teacher and Youth Director as well as Choir Director. PTA Central Elementary School. HR Comm. in I.B. late 60's and 70's. Pro Umpire in the 60's to 80'S. Coached in Texas and IB Little League and Pony League. Leader with Boys and Girls Scouts of America. He enjoyed singing and dancing, (won many trophies) loved singing to his wife and dancing with her. Loved his children and grand children and great grandchildren. Took interest in and attended all their events. Loved all his family, will be greatly missed by his family, friends, Church and Community. He was an excellent example to many and a Good Servant to the Lord in Heaven where you are now singing, dancing, playing baseball and living the word for eternity with your son "El Lyon", Issy and God. The Viewing will be at Glen Abbey Mortuary/Chapel of the Roses, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. Interment will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2013, Glen Abbey Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A Celebration of Life will follow at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 700 D Avenue, Coronado, CA 92118.
