Obituary Condolences

MOORE, JUDY Feb. 17, 1947 to March 20, 2011 Judy Moore was a native San Diegan, born in 1947. Middle child of six children, father was a commander in the Navy, and lived in Guam for a short time growing up. She was a graduate of Hoover High and San Diego State University. Early in her career, Judy worked in the hotel industry at the Kona Kai Club and Handlery Hotels, transitioned into a residential Realtor, and most notably, as the Associate Director for the Adams Avenue Business Association. Judy was raised, lived, and worked in Normal Heights most of her life. She truly believed in her community and served on various volunteer committees. Beyond community volunteering, she participated in the community development and redevelopment of Adams Avenue. Her work and dedication to the small businesses on Adams Avenue helped create hundreds of thousands of memories for the visitors of the Roots Festival, Adams Avenue Street Fair, and other Adams Avenue events. She was diagnosed with cancer in October 2010, and fought it every step of the way. Judy is survived by two siblings, David Moore of Hastings, NE, and Pamela Kish of Spring Valley, CA, extended family Linda Moore of Ramona and Terry Klemenstrud of WA. Nieces and nephews: Willard, Chris, Channelle, Rick, James, Tanya, Jonathan, and Christina. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Charlene, and brothers Willard and Leroy. A Celebration of Life service and reception is planned for Friday, April 1st at 3:00 p.m., at United Methodist Church, 4650 Mansfield St. followed by a reception at the Normal Heights Community Center at 4649 Hawley Blvd. Donations may be made to the .
