Kathy Ann Gibney April 10, 1949 - August 25, 2017 San Diego Kathy passed away August 25th at home with daughters Angela and Ursula holding her hand. She and husband Ed married October 25, 1969 and have four children, Ed and Mike, and the two girls. She was a computer based trainer and devoted sponsor of children receiving baptism and first communion at Ascension Catholic Parish. In 2000, she donated a kidney to her boss at work and carried the Olympic torch in the Salt Lake Winter Olympics in 2002 in recognition. She loved and was loved. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Vitas Hospice or Alzheimer's Assoc.A funeral Mass at Ascension Parish, 11292 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., will be celebrated Sept. 8 at 10AM followed by a reception from 11-2PM in the Parish Hall. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery at 2:30PM.

My family would like to expend their sincere thoughts and prayers to your family for your great loss. We lost Kevin to this horrific disease on 3/9/09.

I have such fond memories of keeping score for our boys while they played baseball in Tierransanta.

May she finally rest in peace and your family move forward with life.
