Lucinda Watrous Obituary

WATROUS, LUCINDA BRAY Lucinda Bray Watrous, age 67, died on Friday, October 3, 2008, in Vista, California. Lucinda was born in Charleston, West Virginia, the only daughter of Major Peyton Huddleston Bray Sr. and Louise Ellen (Dolly) Rodney Bray. She was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Rodney Duval and Peyton Huddleston Jr. The family was stationed in Germany and Alaska after World War II, and then settled in La Jolla, California, where Lucinda lived most of her life. Known as Cindy to family members, she had a quick wit and loved to joke, laugh, sing and speak her mind. Although she battled ill health for many years, her unique character, determined spirit and courage always impressed family and caregivers. She is survived by her eight devoted nieces and nephews and their families, Carol Delcamp, Judy Bray, Linda Rediger Smith, Gregory Bray, Peter Bray, James Bray, Lisa Bloom and Peyton H. Bray III, and by her beloved sisters-in-law Gloria Allred and Faustin Bray. There was no one else like her in our lives, and her passing leaves an empty space in our hearts. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 15th, at St. James by the Sea Episcopal Church in La Jolla.
