Becker, Robert Joseph 12/31/1922 ~ 06/23/2013 OCEANSIDE -- Robert (Bob) was born in Philadelphia, PA., the oldest son of 10 children. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII-- later serving in Korea, and into the Vietnam era --and retired as a Chief MSGT in the USAF. He began his second career in Administration in the San Diego County Sheriff's Department; and in 1979 Bob and Caroline settled in Oceanside, while continuing to enjoy their RV-travels. At home, Bob was active in their senior community, while pursuing his favorite hobbies-- bowling, model making, and graphic arts. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the B.P.O.E., and Top Sergeants, Assn. Bob was Caroline's devoted caregiver until her passing in 2002: they had been married 59 years. In 2003, Bob married Pauline Bezaire (nee Tocco). Robert is survived by his wife, Pauline; his daughters, Joanne Re (Richard) of Hampton, VA, and Carol Sanzo (Bill Landrum) of Coldspring, TX; and by his sisters and brothers, Ruth, Bernice, Mary, David, William, and Edward; as well as by his seven grandchildren, Joseph, Anna, and Michael Re, and Andrea, Edward, Mark, and Jennifer Sanzo; and his four Re great- grandsons, Dylan, Jaired, Thomas, and Daniel. Survivors also include numerous nieces and nephews. All are invited to a Mass of the Resurrection at Mission San Luis Rey Chapel, Oceanside, at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 27.
