Weeks, Jr., Treadwell "Ted" Francis 07/27/1922 ~ 11/09/2012 CARLSBAD -- Ted passed away peacefully and comfortably at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 90 years of age. Ted was born on July 27, 1922 in Bristol, Connecticut to Ted and Elizabeth. He was the fifth son of 15 children, 12 boys, 3 girls. Ted served in the Marine Air Corps as an upper turret gunner in a B-25 Mitchell bomber in World War II fighting in the Pacific for which he received the Good Conduct Medal. He was one of ten brothers who served in the Armed Forces of which seven served in World War II covering every branch of the Armed Forces and were known as the "Lucky Seven." Upon returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Nicolina Rose Damiano at the movie theater in Thomaston, Connecticut and married her shortly thereafter. They had two beautiful children, Judith and Treadwell III. They moved to California in 1959 and settled in El Cajon eventually moving to Lakeside. He joined partners with his brother Willard to form a construction company that specialized in custom homes and remodels throughout East County. Treadwell and Nellie moved to Carlsbad in 1981 where they lived the rest of their lives. They were married for 60 years until her passing August 21, 2007. He lost his only daughter to cancer on November 25, 2010. His son Treadwell III came to work for him in 1978 and they turned their concentration towards developing and building apartment complexes. By 1981, his son formed a commercial construction company called TFW Construction named for his father, where he worked until his retirement from the company at age 83. To the rest of the family he was known as 'Dado' and Nellie as 'Nono.' Dado leaves behind 6 beautiful grandchildren, Jennifer (husband Mark Kniffing), Sean O'Donnell (wife Chantalle), Treadwell IV (wife Amber), Jessica (husband Miguel Macias), Jeffrey (wife Helena) and Laura (husband James Weitzel Jr.), 11 beautiful great- grandchildren, Keller, Makenna, Landon, Teddy V, Brandon, Matilda, Merrick, James III, Jordyn, Kaitlyn and Kylie who was born 2 days prior to his passing, and his son Ted III and wife Rose. Dado touched the lives of every person he met. He was the kindest, most generous man you ever knew. He will truly be missed by those he left behind, but will never be forgotten. Thank you Elizabeth Hospice workers for making Dado's last days so peaceful and comfortable.
