Hardy, Warren G. EL CAJON -- Warren G. Hardy joined his eternal companion, Camilla, on November 5, 2013. He passed away peacefully in sleep of natural causes. Warren was born August 17, 1924, to George B and Edna Minerva Nielson Hardy in Inverury (now Central), Utah. He spent his early youth in Central, Utah before his family settled in McGill and later in Ely, Nevada. He met his future wife, Camilla Domgaard, while in high school. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy shortly after graduation and served in the Pacific Theater. In August of 1945 while Warren was on leave, he called Camilla and proposed over the phone. She traveled to San Francisco, where they were married. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on Jan. 14,1946. After the war, they settled in Ely where Warren worked in the copper mines and in the smelter. Warren had a brilliant mind. He received degrees from RCA Institute in New York City, San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. He and Camilla settled in El Cajon in 1953. Warren was a pioneer in the Aerospace Industry. He was involved in the first space flights and personally knew many of the early astronauts. Warren was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and Camilla served 2 missions in the Freiberg Germany Temple and also served for many years in the Los Angeles and San Diego Temples. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Camilla, his brother RG and sister Patience. He is survived by his sons: Bryant J. (Stephanie) Hardy of Ponca City, OK; William G. (Elva) Hardy of Lakeside; and Robert D. (Marina) Hardy of Rigby, ID. He had 21 grand- children and 40 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov 14th, in the LDS Church, 1330 El Rey Ave., El Cajon, with a viewing one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 13th, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at El Cajon Funeral Home, 694 So. Mollison Ave., El Cajon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the .
