Nicolo "Nick" DeSanti Obituary
DeSanti, Nicolo "Nick" 04/02/1930 ~ 05/31/2014 SAN DIEGO -- Nick passed away in his sleep. He was born on April 2, 1930 in San Diego. Nick began working as a fisherman and then served in the Korean War as a combat soldier. He continued to fish for several years after the war. He then worked as a tavern owner (primarily at the Lamplighter) for the next 37 years until his retirement. Nick was predeceased by his five brothers: Joe, Vince, Frank, Tony and Albert. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie (Trevisani); sons, Leonard and his wife Kathy, Vic and his wife Jennifer, and Nick and his wife Tonya; six beautiful grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nick's greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. The viewing will be Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Merkley-Mitchell Mortuary, 3655 5th Ave., San Diego, from 4pm - 7pm. The celebration of Nick's life will begin Monday, June 9, 2014 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Little Italy at 9am with a Rosary and Mass. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum.
