I knew Gordy for 57 yrs. I had the honor and privelege to serve with him in our Aviation Cadet Class 55V. I also worked at American Airlines with him. There is no one I respected more. He was a Man's Man!

I never knew, nor met Gordon. My friend spoke highly of him; was with him in the end... and that's enough for this man. I wish him great flight in the afterlife and many blessings. Dearest sympathies to his family and friends. a stranger.

I didn't know Gordy well, I just knew he was a wonderful man and you two were perfect together...so sorry for your loss.

I was saddened to hear of Gordons passing. He was one I always looked forward to seeing in my dental chair. Being a former flight attendant and sharing the love of the "airline world" we had many things in common to talk and laugh about while I cleaned and polished his teeth. He will be dearly missed. He was a great man.

Zanne,
For a man of such accomplishment, Gordy was a great guy, down to earth and with a terrific sense of humor. He added a wonderful dimension to our trip to Russia. We have lost a superb advocate for aviation. Our thoughts are with you.

Dear Zanne- My deepest sympathy & love to you and Gordie's family-the kids & grandkids. He was a super man/pilot. He will be up there with Gary and all the rest of them who have high moral fiber.
Love,
Mary (Alton) Wigton & family

Dear Suzanne: We are very saddened to learn of Gordon's passing. It has been many years but he was a great friend on the Hall of Fame Board and a grand and elegant pilot in the annals of Amercan Airlines.
Our love to you and the family. Speedy and Judy

Joe, above, said it well. Gordy was a born leader, a kind man, and a fine aviator. Those of us at American Airlines were priveleged to work with him, and he contributed so much to San Diego as a community.
