Obituary Condolences

DELL, EARL C. Nov. 11, 1920 to Nov. 28, 2012 Earl passed away while peacefully sitting in a chair in the home he built for his family. Husband of the late Christine Dell, he was the beloved stepdad of Joyce Liebster (Lou), Beverly Lynn (Gerald), and the late Eilene Whitlow; grandfather to seven, great-grandfather to 18, great-great-grandfather to 16. A native of Cleveland Ohio, Earl moved to San Diego at the age of sixteento be with his family after his mother, Sophia, passed away. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps a few years later and was camped in Fallbrook, California before going on to serve in the Pacific campaign of World War II as a Sea Bee. Earl was a 32nd degree Mason, and member of Heartland Lodge #576 for 56 years. He was also was a member the Eastern Star, White Shrine, and served as Chapter Dad for El Cajon Valley DeMolay. Earl loved to travel. Whether by truck and trailer, motor home, or somebody else's car, plane or ship he traveled with family! He assisted Christine in raising and showing English Bulldogs, as well as canaries, Siamese cats, grand kids and more. And as a lover of baseball, Earl served as past president of the Hot Stove League for the San Diego Padres. Earl also was a man who loved women and was always quick to hand out his business card to the most attractive women including his dearest friend, Doris Bicker of Cleveland Ohio, who passed away one month ago. Services will be held on December 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Scottish Rite Temple in Mission Valley. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Scottish Rite Language Center.
