Obituary Condolences

NEAGLES, RUBY JO Ruby Jo Neagles, was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 23rd, 1929. A resident of Imperial Beach, she passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2013, at the age of 83. Born into the Ralls family, Ruby, was raised in Chowchilla, California. Graduating from Chowchilla High School, in 1947, Ruby succeeded in athletics; playing for the semi-professional Fresno Comets softball team as well as excelling in Madera County Bowling leagues. Ruby studied to become a stenographer. She began her career with the District Attorney's Office in Madera County and furthered her work as the Criminal Records Manager during her 34 years with the San Diego County Sheriff's department. Ruby was very active in the community and was an annual donor to Boys and Girls Club of South County as well as being a long-term member of the Retired Deputy Sheriff's Association and volunteered at the Imperial Beach Sheriff's station. In 1956, Ruby Jo married Robert Vernon Neagles of San Gabriel, California. Ruby is lovingly remembered by her sons Mark Neagles of Imperial Beach and Matt Neagles of San Diego and her grandchildren, Jason Neagles of Imperial Beach, Jennifer Kuzma of Poway, grand-son-in-law Bill Kuzma of Poway and great-granddaughter Joi Kuzma. Ruby's memorial service will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on February 5th, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. A celebration of life will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in her name to Boys and Girls Club of South County.
