Obituary Condolences

TODD, CHESTER B. "BUD" July 31,1927 to February 19, 2013 Beloved husband and father; survived by his bride of 59 years, Phyllis; sons Mark (Barbara) and Tom (Debbie); daughters Barbara Pappas (George) and Denise Brunelli (Duane) and nine wonderful grandchildren; brothers Eugene and Ron and sister Marlene. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley and brother Jim. Chester was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and joined the Navy at age 17 and served his country in World War II and the Korean conflict completing 22 years in the Navy. After his retirement from the Navy, he worked at North Island Naval Air Rework Facility where he retired as General Foreman, therein completing 40 years of combined government service. He then took a part-time job with the Sweetwater Union High School District as a bus driver where he transported Special Education students. He often said that was the best job he ever had, and for many years afterward he maintained contact with several former students. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on March 9, 2013 at the Sweetwater Community Church, 5305 Bonita Road, Bonita CA. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
