Adrian Marine Obituary
Marine, Adrian DEL MAR, CA -- Adrian Marine, 88, passed away on Nov. 5, 2013 at his home. Adrian was born in Los Angeles in 1925 and moved to San Diego in 1943. He joined the United States Marine Corp., fought in WWII and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7420. He married Julia DeBroux in 1952. They had three sons that they raised in the community of Linda Vista, and they later moved to Del Mar. Adrian held many jobs in his lifetime, but he mostly worked in construction until he retired at the age of 52. He graduated from San Diego City College with a degree in Police Science. He dedicated his life to helping others. He was a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital (29 years), the San Diego Police Reserve (16 years), the Boy Scouts of America (5 years), San Diego City and County Parks & Recreation (40 years) and many other organizations. He volunteered over 30,000 hours and his contributions continue to live on. Adrian was preceded in death by his parents Froilan and Justina Marin and his sisters Hilaria, Gloria, and Eulalia. Adrian is survived by his wife of 61 years, Julia, their sons Anthony (and wife Annette), Adrian (and wife Leslie), and Aage Robert, grand- children Michael, Robert, Adrian, Jennifer and Aaron, great-grand- children Madison, Wren and Peyton, his sisters Rosie, Antonia, Mary, Jessie and Valentine, and his brother Martin. There are many extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply. There will be a service with military honors at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery on Nov. 21, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at the VFW Hall at 2100 Logan Ave. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Veterans Hospital General Post Fund, 3350 La Jolla Village Dr., San Diego, CA 92161. Adrian asked the Lord into his life on June 6, 2012, and has been welcomed to heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for everything you did for us Dad! We love you very much!
