Mallett, Maxine ABILENE, KS -- Maxine Mallett, 89, of San Diego, California, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Abilene. She was born August 1, 1924 in Solomon, the daughter of Carol and Emma (Fleagle) Anderson. She was united in marriage to Daniel Mallett on December 30, 1974 in San Diego. He preceded her in death May 29, 2012. Maxine spent 43 years in San Diego before moving back to the Abilene Area in 2012. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of Rebecca's Eastern Star, and was on the Election board for 43 years in San Diego. Maxine is survived by her son, Samuel "Sam" Alstrom and wife Shirley of Abilene, step- daughters Linda Legge of Hamilton, Ohio and Gloria Sims of Abilene, step-sons Daniel Mallett JR. and wife Kathy of Escondido, California and Jerry Fleagle and wife Noreen of Riviera Beach, Florida, 10 grand- children; Kimberly Haynie of Abilene, Tina Alstrom of Wichita, Tracy Zabata and husband Frank of San Diego, California, Sean Mallett and wife Carrie of Santee, California, Jeff Legge and wife April of Colorado, Gwen Dickinson and husband Shawn of Colorado, Manette Williams and husband Ernie of Texas, Pamela Kimball and husband John of Colorado, Stacy Wince and wife Rhonda of McPherson, and Sherri Frank and husband Rick of Missouri, numerous great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ivan and Paul Anderson of Colorado, one brother-in-law, Dave Mallett of San Diego, California, two sisters Maryann Lebo of Danridge, Tennessee and Janice Goodwin and husband Don of Tecunseh, Kansas, and one sister in-law, Edith Anderson of Abilene. She was preceded in death by parents, first husband, Andrew (Sam) Alstrom and second husband Daniel Mallett, two brothers, Carol (Bud) Anderson and James Anderson, step-sons Jim and Kenny Alstrom and step-daughters Gladys Ritgers and Donna (Shopteeze) Sullavan.
