Roger Leon Merk January 1, 1948 - November 3, 2015 San Diego Roger Leon Merk, age 67, was born and lived in North Dakota until seventeen. After both his parents passed away, Roger moved to San Diego to live with Aunt Myrtle, his second mom. Her love, care and guidance shaped him into the successful man he was, a retired engineer, an icon and educator in Gemology. He lived his life to the fullest collecting books, gems and Jade. He will remain the brightest polished Gem among his family, peers and friends lives. Final farewell on November 10, 2015 from 4-8pm, Service at 6 pm at Aztlan Mortuary, 7856 La Mesa, CA 91942. Burial at Greenwood Memorial Park, American Legion, San Diego at 11 am on November 11th.
