I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news of jahmal's passing. I got to know Jahmal when we painted together a long time ago. I knew him to be very kind, funny, and easy going. I only ran into him a few times in the years since, maybe about 2 years ago most recently. But at that time he seemed to be very happy in life. Rest in peace.

Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.

Jahmal and I went to high school together and although I haven't seen him in 15 years I remember him fondly. Jahmal had a gentle spirit and gave those famous smiles as a gift to everyone he knew. Strength and peace go out to your family as he dances towards the light.

I don't know Jahmal's family but my brother Brian and he were very close friends helping each other through some troubles together and sharing an extremely close bond. When I first met him it was as though we had always known each other perhaps since I was Brian's oldest brother, I don't know. But I met him just before my wife and I moved from Amherst to Maine. I'll never forget us sitting in my living room watching the Patriots beat Oakland as they made their run to the Super Bowl. Beyond that, every time our band The Electric Carnival played before our move and after he was always there. Every time we saw each other he always gave me the biggest smile and hug as we quickly caught up on how we each were doing. I have had many, many friends in my 55 years but I don't think I've ever met a more kindly and cooler soul than Jahmal. I share your grief but I am sure that where he is now he is brightening the existence of all the souls that surround him. I will dearly miss him.
