Dalton received his wish to "Just Step Off" and went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, just one day after having celebrated his 93th birthday. He leave behind his true love and wife of 66 years, Neva, three sons, a granddaughter, two grandsons, a great niece and two great grand nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Chalk Mountain Cemetery in Atascadero. Flowers would be nice or a contribution toward a grave marker would be appreciated.

My Sweet Dalton, I'am truly blessed and honored to have you in my life. You always had a smile for me, and I always had a big hug for you:) You told my staff that you wanted to adopt me! I was thrilled to know that. You found out that I was engaged to Robb and the next time you saw him in the bank, you took him aside, just the two of you, and you proceeded to give him the "Talk" man to man! That was such a special day for me and I thank you for it. I love you and I doubt if I ever meet a better Gentleman than you. Today, your service was very sweet, warm & kind, which describes you to a tee. I gave Neva some bright yellow Roses in honor of your little yellow truck today and let her know what a huge impact you made on everyone at the bank, and anyone you came in contact with. Thank you for always making me feel like I was the only one alive at our encounters at the bank. Just so you know, you will always be in my heart and I thank the Lord for getting to know you Neva & David. Keep on smiling my friend. With much love, Sheri Van Fleet
