I met Dick as a customer at the Shoe Tree. He was friendly, quite a talker and fun character. Always had a smile on his face.
I'm sorry to hear of his passing. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Sincerely,
Natalie Grantham

Dick has been my friend for 22 years. When ever we visited he would always make me feel like I was special to him. That was a great quality he had and I admired him for it. He could make a person feel comfortable in just a couple of minutes after not seeing them for a long period of time. I'll miss his big smile, sharp wit and calm confidence. He was truly a great man.

I have known Richard back to the early eighties. We sat in his chevron gas staion and just chew the fat, and planned having some luck or dinner. We played cards guite a bit since we both loved ginn rummy.
He stayed at my home for a few months when he had some life issues, but he always appreciated what do for him and he deserved all the best life had to offer.
Richard sort of disappeared for a while when I heard he remarries to Joyce. I met him agin, and was happy and had love of life. I am sure Joyce was a factor.
Sadly, we grew apart and had not seen Richard for years, and the saw him again in town. He was having major medical issues, but was in good spirits. We talked a lot and phoned each other quite often until thevphone did not ring again.
I just new I was losing a great frien again because of his illness. I will miss him, and just wish I had more time to reminisce the past. Rest in peace.

Dick my friend my memories with you will always bring a smile to my face. All the conversation of the last 45+ years are coming to mind. It was so natural to know you were there. Good to know your not in pain anymore. At least the last twenty years our conversations always ended with "I Love you" "Love you too".

I can think of no one more full of life than my Uncle Dick. Everyone he met became a friend. He was my mother's little brother, and she used to say he was like a flea in a skillet because he never stayed still for long. I'll miss you, Uncle Dick.
