Susan Elizabeth Belben

Susan Elizabeth Belben was born in New York City, Borough of Queens, N.Y., in December of 1926, the youngest of three children born to John and Susan Kutch, and passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Paso Robles. Susan lived most of her adult life in Southern California, but she relocated to Paso Robles in February of 2012 to be near her son, Ron.  Susan worked at the Broadway Department store in Long Beach in the 1960s and also did a short stint in a public school cafeteria.  She enjoyed Bingo and especially loved to play scrabble - she found little competition with whomever she played. In other words, she beat almost everyone! Susan endured many physical hardships over the past few years, but somehow always managed to flash one of her famous smiles and ask how you were doing. She always showed grace and kindness to everyone. She was petite yet strong, powerful yet loving, proud yet caring. Susan will be missed by all of her family, friends and the caregivers that helped her through these last few years. She was extremely grateful for the kindness, thoughtfulness and tenderness of those who cared for her.   Susan was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, and would have done anything for her family. She loved all of them with all of her heart. She never missed a birthday, anniversary or holiday card or greeting. Her family love and miss her greatly.  Her son, Ron; granddaughter, Dana; nieces Suzanne, Jeneanne, Peggy, Patricia; and many grand nieces and nephews survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall; brother, Harold; and sister, Frances. A memorial is pending. Susan's ashes will be scattered off the Southern California coastline, which she loved dearly.
