I first met Bob when I began my career with the City of San Luis Obispo in 1984. One of my first projects as a young engineer was to design a water main replacement project. I had no idea how water pipelines were installed and what various appurtenances were used for. I immediately connected with Bob and asked for his guidance. He was somewhat cautious about this young "office boy" asking questions but he soon opened up and provided me great guidance based on his experince. Bob was truly a remarkable person and I am blessed to have been able to work with him over many years. He will be missed by so many that he touched. My thoughts are with his family in this very difficult time.

Dear Ioppini family. Robert in so many ways has always been associated with the happiest times I can remember. His laugh and smile I will always remember. The BBQ's at the "Howie motel" and the various family events always had Robert in the middle helping out with that great big smile.
