Anna Jane "Janie" Peterson, 69, of Paso Robles, went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 26, 2014. ]Janie was born in January 1945 to Barton and Freda Peterson and spent her entire life in the Paso Robles area. A 1962 graduate of Paso Robles High School, she earned her teaching credential from Biola College in Los Angeles, Calif. Before retiring in 2003, Janie was honored for her distinguished 34-year career as a fifth grade teacher in Corcoran, Calif. She was well known for her beautiful soprano voice, which she used in service to the Lord for almost six decades while a member of the First Baptist Church of Paso Robles. Everyone who knew her loved Janie for her caring and generous spirit. Janie is survived by her brothers Larry Peterson of Madison, Wis. And Wayne Peterson of Paso Robles; sister, Marilyn Littlefield of Paso Robles; four nieces, three nephews, and 12 great nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her father, Barton; mother, Freda; and nephew, Stephen Peterson. A memorial service for Janie will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 17th and Park Streets in Paso Robles, after which she will be laid to rest at Templeton District Cemetery.
