Audrey E. Loperena Audrey E. Loperena passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born in 1920 in Taft and attended schools there. Audrey and her husband, Frank, a long time building contractor in Taft had many friends in the area. He was an avid golfer and Audrey was an LVN. She worked in both Dr. Johnson and Dr. Bitzer's offices where she was "the nurse with the pretty white hair." After she and her husband retired to Morro Bay in 1972, she continued to work in a nursing facility there. Audrey had been in failing health and in a care facility in Phoenix for several years. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hillan of Hemet, son and daughter in law, Frank and Ruth Loperena, daughter,Carol Gard and her husband Gary; grandson Stan Hillan and wife Rebecca; granddaughter Susan Crosby of Phoenix, granddaughter Leanne Baird and her husband Jason of Templeton and grandson Deron Bardin; seven great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. Audrey will be laid to rest next to her husband of 52 years in Los Osos. Frank died in 1990. The family plans a memorial in Morro Bay at a later date.
