Beverly Reilly Obituary

Beverly Jean Reilly, 64, of Lone Pine, Calif., died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. Beverly was born in Pasadena, Calif., and raised in the Owens Valley. Bev was a young lady when her parents, Emil and Esther Freitag, had to move the family in search of work. Having worked hard all her life, Bev made her way back home to Lone Pine, where she had the space to enjoy her family, friends and horses. In Bev''s front yard you can find the fifth generation of her favorite horse, Nufara. As a talented rider, Bev completed the Tevis Cup, placed tenth in the Nevada All-State and was referred to as a "Cherub on an Arab" (the breed of horse she loved so much). Bev''s lifestyle made it impossible to have friends, as they all became part of her family. That was proven true over and over with her endurance riding family, the Anchor Ranch and the communities of Lone Pine, Tehachapi and San Luis Obispo. As life continued for Bev, she found more time for quilting, family and her best friend and sister, Kathy Yeager. Bev and Kathy where inseparable in all things - from taking a walk to building quilts for many weddings and grandchildren. In simple terms, Bev had "crossed the Emigrant Trail" with her sister, Kathy, following the tracks of her dear friend, Bill Thornburg. Bev is survived and loved by her husband, Dennis Reilly; daughter, Alie (Jeff) McKee; sister, Debbie Freitag; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Esther Freitag. A celebration of life of the two sisters, Bev Reilly and Kathy Yeager, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Santa Margarita Ranch Asistencia. A family fund has been set up in the name of Jeff and Alie McKee at the Santa Lucia Bank. Contributions can be sent to P.O. Box 200, Santa Margarita, CA 93453, or any Santa Lucia Bank branch.

To the members of Bev's And Kathy's families, my heart goes out to you. I first met Bev when she lived on one end of Bamboo court and I lived on the other. We would always meet at the corner and walk to school together. I will always remember her beautiful smile and funny laugh. The last time I saw Bev was at the fabric store here in Tehachapi. We stood and talked awhile about our families and then went our seperate ways. I only wish we had talked for a few minutes more. I guess the only good thing to come out of this is that we will all meet again someday when we see her smiling at us in Heaven. I'll always remember you and everytime I make a quilt I'll think of you. Love ya always JoAnn Rogers Childress

Dear Dennis and family,
I loved Bev all my life. She was my babysitter for a time in Tehachapi and then we became friends when I got older. I am sending my heartfelt condolences to all of you, Reilly's, Freitag's and Yeager's for this senseless loss. I will pray for all of you.
Sincerely,

Even in high school, Bev was like her sister, Katy, in her love for animals and horses and her kind, honest, sincere and caring personality. She had the sweetest smile.
My condolences to her friends and family and my hope is later you find peace once again.

Dear friends of the Freitag Girls. I went to school in Tehachapi with all 3 sisters. This is such a tragedy. I knew Beverly (Beaver) through my older sister, Phyllis Carter Turner. I went to school with Kathy and her sister Debbie. Kathy being one year ahead of me and Debbie two years behind me. I guess there is no explanation to why these things happen to decent people. They were such a wonderful, close knit family and didn't deserve what happened to them. It is hard to even write these words because I don't want to believe it's even true. We knew their parents well. I send my most sincere sympathy to Debbie and all the families they left behind.
They were loved dearly and will be missed terribly.
With deepest sympathy and sadness.

I knew Kathy when she lived in Flagstaff and reading this wonderful tribute to this special family, makes us realize how important it is to say "I love you" every day to those you care about. May God be with you.

Ps 31:3-5
3 For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name's sake,
Lead me and guide me.
4 Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

I pray for the family. I was a school firend of Bev and Kathy,there are no words to discribe how this saddens my heart.
