Billie Ion Obituary

Billie Jean Ion, of Cayucos, was born in October 1933 in Oklahoma, and died peacefully after her long battle with cancer at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at home. She had enjoyed her last days with immediate family. Billie is survived by her three daughters Cheryl Starling of Morro Bay, Kathleen Gerber of Atascadero and Lisa Mankins of Cayucos; two sons Walter and Dennis Wells of the San Joaquin Valley; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Ion; and other family members and friends. A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at the Cayucos Cemetery. Friends are invited to join us for the service and celebration of her life immediately following at 174 "J" St. in Cayucos.
