Chrystal Grabil

Chrystal Grabil, of Avila Beach, Calif., went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, just five days before her 93rd birthday. Born in Orcutt, Calif., to Frank and Lorraine Carlson, Chrystal was a brilliant child. She had skipped a number of grades, graduated from Santa Maria High School, attended Santa Maria Junior College (later Alan Hancock College) and graduated from Munson College at the age of 17 years. She was a Christian, Blue Bird leader, Camp Fire leader, listed in Who''s Who of American Women, guest speaker on the Huntley Brinkley TV show, real estate broker 60 plus years and the first woman president of the Santa Maria, Santa Ynez and Lompoc Valley''s Board of Realtors. She was also involved in organizing the Avila Beach Civic Association and a former ABCA Board of Director''s member, member of Phi Epsilon Phi sorority, Women''s Alliance of Hospice San Luis Obispo County, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, SLO Kamper Klub, Eagles Auxiliary, Santa Maria Pioneer Association and the Avila Beach Civic Association. Chrystal is survived by her daughter, Carla Greene (Bruce) of Valencia, Calif; grandson, Eric Greene (Karina) and their son, Elijah of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; sister, Mary Lundgren of Santa Maria, Calif.; niece, Marsha Lundgren Hill (Jack) of Colorado; nephew, Marc Lundgren of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Louis Grabil; and granddaughter, Cynthia Greene. In lieu of a funeral, the family requests you spend of few moments to reflect on the good times and memories, enjoy your family and the blessings you have and prepare for your eternal life.
