Donald Leydecker Obituary

Donald Leydecker was born in December 1931, in Modesto Calif., the third child to Lendall and Elsie Leydecker. After graduating from high school he joined the Army and served a tour in Korea. Coming home to see his folks he met his soon-to-be wife Jackie. They married and had two daughters, Pamela and Lisa. His trade of choice was truck driving. He spent 30 years driving truck across this country. He always had lots of stories to share about his travels and the amazing things he transported. He hauled all kinds of products and materials to the four corners of North America. He loved the open roads! When he retired, he purchased a bus-sized motor home and continued to travel the roads meeting people. He was happiest when talking to people. Even after his first round of chemo he continued to travel from coast to coast. He passed quietly sitting in his favorite chair on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010. Donald leaves behind brother Melvin Leydecker; wife Dee; sister Ellen Safranek (Leland); daughters Pamela (David) Chapman, Lisa (Frank) VanSant; grandson, Justin; and lots of friends along the byways of this great country.
