Emma Reinhardt Obituary

Emma Lee Reinhardt, 89, longtime resident of San Luis Obispo, passed after a brief illness Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, in Rocklin, Calif. She was born and raised in Benton, Ill.  She graduated from St. Luke''s Nurses College in St. Louis, Mo., then immediately joined the U.S. Navy during World War II. While stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas, she met her husband-to-be, Ted Reinhardt, a Naval Aviator.  Em and Ted raised their family in San Luis Obispo. At first, Em was a stay at home mom.  She was involved with the PTA, Junior Matrons, Camp Fire Girls and Zion Lutheran Church.  In 1964, Em went back to work as RN and spent the next 12 years at the French Clinic working for Dr. Crook. In 1977, they moved to the Sacramento area and then two years later retired to South Lake Tahoe.  In 1999, they returned to San Luis Obispo, but in 2008 moved to Rocklin to be near their daughter. Ted passed away in May of this year. Em is survived by sons Ted II (Jeanne) of Green Valley, Ariz., and Paul (Alison) of San Luis Obispo; daughter, Jeri of Auburn, Calif.; grandchildren Ted III, Eric and Sara; and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of Em''s life will be held at a future date.

Just would like to send my regards to the family, I worked for Ted and Em in the past and really enjoyed their company. They were both such fun and delightful people. So sad to hear of their passing. T. Jackson
