Gary Austin Trudeau

Gary Austin Trudeau, 71, was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Austin and Doris Trudeau, and passed away Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at his home in Morro Bay. Gary married Barbara in 1958 and had four children, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Gary served in the U.S. Air Force and was active in the Elks Club. He also served as president of the Truckee Lions Club. He ran for city council in Antioch, Calif., and was active in service organizations, such as Boy Scouts and Babe Ruth. He and Barbara moved to the Morro Bay area in 1995 and after 40 years as an electrician, retired. He volunteered with Homeless Animal Rescue Team (H.A.R.T.) and became a Morro Bay Police Volunteer. He was loved much by many and is now one of our angels in heaven. Gary is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons Michael (Rene) and Kevin; daughter, Deborah (David); grandchildren Kristin, Kaylee, Brittney, Austin, David and Brock; great-grandchildren Emily, Ashlynn, Nichole, Ryan and Kiley; brothers Douglas Bruce, Nelson and Timothy; adopted sister, Lucille Brughelli; many nieces and nephews; and pets, Corky and Penny. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kimberly; and granddaughter, Sarah. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 27265 North Luther Drive in Canyon Country Calif. A reception will follow.
