Grace Nellie Dean

Grace Dean Obituary

The world was first introduced to Grace Nellie Dean in May 1910, and our precious Grace was called home in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24, 2010. She was 100 years young. Grace was raised on a small farm in Idaho and graduated college from Lewis and Clark with a teaching degree. She moved to California to pursue her teaching career and taught primary school education for a number of years. In fact, in her early years of public school education, Grace began each day''s lesson with a Bible reading. She retired from teaching in 1972 and moved to Morro Bay with her lovely husband, Oscar - they were married for almost three decades. Grace was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed walking the shores of the Central Coast and collect seashells. She loved people and giving her time and possessions to the Achievement House. She was known for lending a helping hand to many a friend. She was a devote Christian and had attended Calvary Baptist Church and Rock Harbor since the early 1970s. Grace is survived by her sister, Willa May Lowary; two sons Bob and Bill; niece, Shirley Lendertson; nephews Roy Lowary and Gary McGlothen; a host of grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews; and a plethora of dear loved ones. She was preceded in eternity by her husband, Oscar Dean; brother, Rowe Lowary; sister-in-law, Mildred Lowary; and niece Ruthie McGlothen. Grace Nellie Dean''s celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at Rock Harbor Christian Fellowship, 1475 Quintana Road in Morro Bay, with a reception immediately following. We Praise the Lord that our blessing is now absent from her body and is present with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all of eternity.
