Harry Cash Obituary

Harry W. Cash, 96, of Los Osos, was born in Carthage, Ark., in June 1914, and died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010. He came to California in 1937 and worked as the produce buyer for Safeway stores until 1952. He then went to work with The Hartford Insurance Company as a claims supervisor of foreign claims. For this job, he had gone back to school at Southwestern University Law School in Los Angeles, where he earned his law degree. He retired from The Hartford in 1977. After he retired, Harry and his wife, Mary-Esther Hentschke Cash, moved from South Pasadena to Los Osos. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in South Pasadena and the Congregational Church in San Luis Obispo. Harry is survived by his wife, Mary-Esther; daughter, Melora Nichols of Atascadero; and granddaughter, Rhiannon Carroll of San Luis Obispo. There will be no services.

I only met Harry once, but what a guy. He was a great husband & companion for Mary-Esther. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, Mary-Esther and the family.
