I am so grateful for the time we had together this summer. It meant a lot to me when we shared the journey up the hill to visit dad. Tell him hi for me, love and miss you both. Love from your sister, Micki.

Jack will always dwell in my memories as one of the most outstanding soldiers I knew during my 24 years service in the U.S. Army. Jack defeated the Viet Cong and saved the lives of many of his fellow soldiers. In addition to being an outstanding leader, he was an exceptionally tough and highly effective infantryman, although he never took personal credit for the great work he did. Words cannot express the awe and respect I have had and will always have for Jack! He was one of the greatest soldiers ever to serve in the U.S. Army.

We are so sorry to hear about your family's loss. Our family remembers Dean from the "good 'ol days" back in Lexington, NE. Dean and Carolyn were wonderful neighbors to my family. I remember Dean to be very nice, caring, patient and loving yet very quiet natured. Dawn & I had so many wonderful child hood memories on Jefferson St. I remember playing in the street in the gutters after we had a nice rain. I remember this like it was yesterday. I thank our parents (the Applegates, the Gartons & my parents) for the unconditional love, kindness and "family oriented" life style that they showed to us as kids. My parents, Tom and Emily Hernandez wanted me to let all of the family know that we are all thinking of you and our thoughts & prayers will be with you during this very difficult time. With love, Shawn Anderson (Hernandez) & family, Tom & Emily Hernandez
