Jean Enzensperger

Jean Enzensperger, 83, passed from the arms of her family Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, in San Luis Obispo. Born in March 1927 in Hanford to Joseph and Florence Enzensperger, Jean grew up in Sausalito and Tiburon, Calif. During her life, she traveled the world and lived many places on the coast of California, in the San Juan Islands, abroad in Germany and Western Australia as well as Hana, Maui. Jean was an accomplished gardener/horticulturalist, classical hula dancer, snow and water skier, swimmer, interior decorator, jack of all trades (able to fix anything), cook, gracious hostess, craft maker, seamstress, upholsterer, sailor (transpacific, Tahiti, Channel Islands, San Juan Islands), medical transcriber, stenographer, office and business manager, not to mention homemaker, and, most of all, Loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and generous and faithful friend. Jean''s family wishes to thank Dr. Frank Basich and Dr. David Javitz for their compassionate and professional care, as well as heartfelt gratitude to all her loving nurses, aides and caregivers at Sydney Creek and Cabrillo Rehab and Care Center. Jean is survived by her daughters Derry (Jeff) Lounsbury of Makawao, Maui, Maria (Robert) Moynier of Cambria and Karli (Jerry) Smallwood of Haiku, Maui; grandchildren Liana and Colin Moynier, Peter Jencks and Mele Smallwood. Per Jean''s request, there will be no service and her ashes have been scattered off the coast of her beloved Hana, Maui. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association and Hospice Partners of the Central Coast. Jean would appreciate each of us telling someone dear to us how much they are loved.
