Kathy Yeager Obituary

Kathy Yeager, 61, of Independence, Calif., died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010. Sadly she is joined in death by her much loved sister, Beverly Reilly. Kathy was not only a great mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, but such a dear friend to so many. Kathy and her husband, Robert, started a family and lived in Lake Isabella, Calif. for many years. They moved to Flagstaff, Ariz., to welcome many new and dear friends into her life. After she retired, she moved back to California to be near family. Kathy was always so full of life, and gave so much to the ones around her. Life was always an adventure to her. She loved being outdoors and starting new adventures. She always had such great adventures while hiking, rafting, hunting, fishing and camping. One of her other loves was bringing happiness and warmth to so many special individuals by making quilts. Her quilts were often sewn alongside her sister, Beverly. Together, the two women stitched with love for each recipient of the quilts. She truly enjoyed traveling to see her five grandchildren in Alaska, Colorado and Kansas. Beverly often joined her in the adventures to see family and friends along the way. Kathy''s strong dedication, love, and kindness were felt by everyone in her life. She touched so many hearts throughout her life - no words can describe how dearly she will be missed. Kathy is survived by her children Robert (Deborah) Yeager of Alaska, Bryan (Debbie) of Colorado and Mindy (Lance) Braun of Kansas; brother-in-law, Dennis Reilly; niece, Alie (Jeff) McKee; sister, Debbie Freitag; grandchildren Katelyn Yeager, Kassie Yeager, Tanner Yeager and Dali Braun and Ty Braun; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Yeager; and parents, Esther and Emil Freitag. A celebration of life for the two sisters, Kathy Yeager and Beverly Reilly, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Santa Margarita Ranch Asistencia. A family fund has been set up in the name of Jeff and Alie McKee at the Santa Lucia Bank. Contributions can be sent to P.O. Box 200, Santa Margarita, CA 93453, or to any Santa Lucia Bank branch.

This is such a shock and it is hard to find words to express what a wonderful, caring, and loving person she was. I attended high school with Kathy and only knew her to be liked by everyone who met her and enriched by the experience. My condolences to her family and friends. Kathy, I know you are in a better place but we will all miss you.

It does not seem possible that this sensible, loving, hardy, caring person can be gone. Kathy was a remarkable person. We spent some time together at family gatherings here in Flagstaff. And, yes, she loved those grandchildren. And, I will never forget that huge supportive family that gathered for Bryan and Debbie's wedding. You all are so lucky to have one another. Cry, smile, laugh and share your lives. There is no better tribute to these wonderful sisters. May God Bless you all.

Prayer...
"Father God, please bless and comfort Kathy and Beverly's family and friends as they weather their tragic losses. As just one of countless members in an extended community, I add my grief and prayers and ask for your divine sustenance on their behalf. As we seek and rely on you, please bring sanity to where we live, for you are the source of all things good. Bind us together, Lord, for we are our brother's keeper. May you bring healing and restoration to every place and person so that 'Your kingdom come, they will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.' I humbly pray these things in your son Jesus' name. Amen."
