A cherished husband, son and father, Mark R. Yaple, 65, of Cambria passed away after a multi-year challenge with cancer Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in Mesa, Ariz., surrounded by his loving wife, Debbie, and many relatives. Mark was born in Atchison, Kan., in 1947 to Hal and Pat Yaple. At an early age, Mark realized his dream of becoming a firefighter. He worked for the U.S. Forestry and retired a fire captain in La Mesa, Calif. For 18 years, Mark and Debbie enjoyed leading mule packing trips in the Sierras. They loved being together outdoors. He had numerous talents, including detail carpentry and leather working. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Mark is survived by his life-mate, Debbie; mother, Pat; three brothers Flip, Eric and Kim; daughters Marin, Mindy and Megan; two stepchildren Mike and Geraldine; and seven grandchildren.
