Thank you for the recent messages about my Mama. There is not a day that goes by I don't think of her. I love hearing how much she meant to others and the impact she had. She was an AMAZING woman and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of her and miss her.

Thinking of Missie today. How she could read and understand people so well. Her presence is missed but the memories and wisdom she left us live on. Thank you friend.

Missie crossed my mind today. Using social media to find her, I came upon this link. I am saddened by her passing. We went to school together in Woodland, and years later I was so very proud to see here as a news casters on TV. She was delightful! I will always remember her smile and her infectious laughter. Her family and children should be extremely proud. My condolences for your loss, but what a gift she was to all that knew here.

I met Missie in 1976. I was nine years old and very interested in broadcasting. I was so interested that I convinced Missie to let me interview Jerry Brown at the Newtork in San Luis Obispo. He was running for president at the time and was in San Luis doing fund raising and interviews. Missie was so nice to me and had such a great smile and sparkle in here eye. It didn't hurt that she had a really cool car, Datsun 280z. What an amzing person. Thank you for the kindness and the great experience. It it one of my fondest memories as a child.

I have known Missie since we were both six years old. We went to grade school and high school together. We were supposed to go to college together at Shasta college, but I got married, so she went alone. The last time I saw her was in San Luis Obispo, after Lacey was born. My husband, myself and my three kids visited them in her home there. I e-mailed her a couple of times at PG&E, once when her daughter was getting married and another time when she was going out on medical leave. But she never told me why. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Both of our birthdays were in March. Hers on the 3rd and mine on the 23rd. I remember she used to call her Mom, Buggie. They call me LT. I have so many memories. I will try to find a photo of her and me if possible and send it to Lacey. Lacey, I only saw you when you were first born. Your Mom was a really good person. Everyone loved her. I will write your address down and keep it and try to find something for your memory book. Buggie, Larry and Bruce, I am so sorry to hear about Missie.
Sincerely,

Our very sincere condolence to Missie’s family. We are so sorry to just hear of your loss. It was a pleasure during our years with the company in San Luis Obispo to occasionally work with, or help out, Missie on one project or another. Even in trying times she always made the best of the situation and was a pleasure to work with. Her contributions to the community and the company were enormous.

How can you not love the person who gave you a great nickname? We had so many fun adventures, from Missie sneaking into a "closed" meeting, to a fun day at Disneyland with good friends, to Super Bowl Sunday at the Awhanee in Yo. While she was here she brightened our world. What a wonderful, wonderful, magical person! Heartfelt condolences to Missie's family, especially to Larry and her children. I will always remember Missie, News-Pires Hobson.

We have many fond memories of Missie! We first met Missie wandering the halls of the girls dorm at Shasta College in the fall of 1971. She was just checking it out, hoping for an opening in the dorms...a few weeks later we helped her move from her room on the Sacramento River to the dorms. We became friends quickly when we realized she grew up in our neck of the woods...Sally and I grew up in Woodland and Missie lived at that time on a farm in Robbins. We have many happy and funny memories of Missie, from her being so excited about a new process they used on her hair (the blow dryer...a new thing in the early 70's!!!) to her love for "Blackie and Sherman" her Guinea Pigs. Missie was always effervescent, positive, warm and caring. She loved to have fun, and enjoyed being part of all the adventures we had living in the dorms. We are sure she will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.
Our prayers and thoughts are with Missie's family.

My deepest sorrow for the passing of a very special person. I met Missie in 1983, the year I stared at PG&E as a mail clerk. She was so kind and supportive to me and we stayed friends throughout our careers. What stays in my mind is her bright smile, shining eyes and happy personality. My thoughts are with you.

Missie was one of those special people who would light up a room just by entering. Her smile and personality made her welcome everywhere she went. Her communication skills enabled her to translate complicated and controversial issues into understandable terms. She was able to successfully manage her community service interests and commitments along with an important, challenging professional career and of course her first priority, her family.
She was a remarkable woman and she made a positive difference in the lives of many people in the community she served unselfishly, the Company she represented so well and the family she loved so much.It is an honor to remember her as a friend and a privilege to have been able to work with her for over a decade.

We met Missie in May, 1991 through our respective careers with Pacific Gas and Electiric Company. Missie was a tremendous asset to the community, and as Public Affairs Manager for PG&E, a guiding resource to the PG&E officers, managers, and to me personally in my need to understand the local community. In addition to Public Affairs, Missie also had an opportunity to serve as the PG&E Manager of Electric Distribution Operations in North San Luis Obispo County, supervising the diverse activities of the engineering, construction, and maintenance personnel headquartered in Templeton. Missie was a very dedicated and courageous person.
Whenever we took a break from business, our discussions revolved around our respective families, especially our children. We have many fond memories of our relationship with Missie. Larry, Matthew and Lacey...you have our deepest sympathy.

Larry, Lacey and Matt: Your mom was my greatest ally in the 8th grade through Apartment D years with Matt and Ian. We were always trying to stay one step ahead of both of you boys and had each other on speed dial to conspire. Matt I know you love her so much - that is my favorite thing about you. Time will make it hurt less, but it will never be easy. Know that you have family and friends that will be there for you.

I have so many fond memories of Missie when she worked for PG&E as our professional paths crossed frequently. Although she worked hard, she always talked about her family in such a loving way! It was evident to me that her family clearly was her priority!
Thanks for the great memories and all the laughs, Missie! You will be missed!
