Stanley Jacques Obituary

Stanley Ralph Jacques, 66, of Shell Beach, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo. Stan was born in April 1944 to Mary LaVell and Spencer Jacques in Utah. He lived in Ontario, Calif., most of his adolescence until he attended college at Cal State Long Beach. He was the first freshmen to ever play on the Long Beach State tennis team. He graduated in 1968 as a mechanical engineer and worked several jobs before settling into his long-term job at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in Avila Beach. On July 2, 1972, Stan married the love of his life, Catherine, with whom he lived a full and happy life, often accompanied with close friends and family. In 1987, their daughter, Genevieve, entered their life and completed their circle of happiness. Stan was a wonderful father, uncle, friend, brother and husband - the best. Stan radiated love and anyone in his company enjoyed his free spirit, enthusiasm and love for life. He will be greatly and forever missed. Stan is survived by his wife, Catherine Jacques; daughter, Genevieve Jacques, both of Shell Beach; sister Judith Blunt of Fremont, Calif.; brother, Ron Jacques of Rexburg, Idaho; and countless other family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at La Perla Del Mar Chapel in Shell Beach.

Kathy;
So sorry to hear about Stan. Ernie Amparo let me know ( many years late, I know). One of our favorite memories was Zion Narrows (when we worked at Fluor Corp.) That was such a great trip. And do you remember the ski outing in the Grand Tetons? Don't know if you'll get this message, so I'll try to contact you on social media (not that I'm very good at that).
Take Care

Stan was the best friend a guy could have ever known. The Jacques family are wonderful and Cathy and Stan were true soul mates. We all loved him and will all dearly miss him. He is safely in the hands of the Lord now and we are all blessed to have had him in our lves for the short time that we knew and loved him.
I will miss you my friend.
Love
Dale

Dear Catherine,
Al and I did meet Stan just two weeks ago in Costco, and how happy we were that you both were sharing your retirements. How sad he had to leave so soon. As the man said at the memorial, "God is with him 'til we meet again".
The eulogies were beautiful. Some were difficult to hear, since I was sitting in the entryway.
I kept hoping you,Stan and your friends would call and we would look at the house in our neighborhood and see if it was to your liking. (The one with the vineyard)
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Love, Marge and Al Bosco

Dear Stan's Family,
He was a fine man to know and I will miss him. Stan was a kind person and generous with his time. I only knew him through work. We saw each other passing in the halls generally, but I knew how well he was respected by his peers.
Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

It was always a joy to work with Stan and I will miss him. He was friendly, always helpful, and never sought to draw attention to himself for the good work he did here at DCPP. I will never forget the wonderful time we spent with Stan and Cathy who shared their swimming pool with our kids over 20 years ago.
