Teresa Hasay Obituary

Teresa Hasay Teresa Hasay, a devoted wife, loving mother and resident of Arroyo Grande Calif., passed away in her home on November 4, 2016, at the age of 56. Teresa was born in August of 1960, in Poole, Dorset England, to Maureen and Ken Ames. She graduated from high school at Queen Elizabeth's School before accepting a job with Barclays Bank. This, as fate would have it, brought her over to the United States where she met the love of her life, Joe Hasay. In 1989 Joe and Teresa were married and welcomed two children, Jordan and Jedd. Teresa and Joe came to reside in Arroyo Grande, Calif., where her beloved husband owns his own business, United Paradyne Corporation, specializing in aerospace services. Their great love was truly a reflection of the bond they shared and will continue to share even in death. Teresa dedicated her entire life to her family. She spent every moment encouraging and joyfully sharing in her families many pursuits. She enjoyed her daily routine of exercise, running six miles every day up until her very last moments of life. She could often be found swimming at Kennedy Club Fitness or walking the Bob Jones trail with Joe. She was a deeply spiritual lady, attending mass at St. Patrick's Church and raising her children with an unwavering faith and hope in Christ Jesus. As such, her children attended St Patrick's Catholic Elementary School and Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School. Her daughter Jordan, now age 25, went onto the University of Oregon where she ran track and completed a degree in business administration. Jordan now runs professionally for NIKE and competed in the past three Olympic Track and Field Trials and has represented the United States in the World Track and Field Championships. Jordan first began running from her mother's inspiration and up until the day she passed the two were inseparable, the best of friends. Her son Jedd, age 23, graduated in 2016 with a degree from Cal Poly University. He is now pursuing his real estate license. Taking after his mom's love for activity, he is also an avid surfer and competitive stand up paddle-boarder for Infinity SUP. Teresa is survived by her husband Joe Hasay; their children Jordan and Jedd; her mother Maureen Ames; her sisters Sue Hall and Ali Meyer; and her brother Trevor Ames; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her father Ken Ames. Teresa was never seen without a smile on her face. Anyone who knew her would recall her constant joy and pride in her home and family. Although this tragedy is extremely difficult, her family and friends find solace in knowing she would want nothing more than for them to be happy and continue living and loving by her example and legacy. We are grateful that she is now at peace with God and look forward to the day in which we will all meet again. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00am, on December 2, 2016, at St Patrick's Church in Arroyo Grande Calif. In lieu of flowers, please take a minute or two today, as Teresa unfailing did every single day, to tell your friends and families how much you love them and thank the Lord for the precious gift of life. As neighbors who walked daily and greeted our English friend Teresa as we passed her, we are greatly saddened by the passing of such a lovely lady. Teresa brought the traditional home baked mince pies as a gift to us at Christmas a couple of years ago and that memory is precious. We shall miss your loving smile.

Teresa Hasay, a beautiful human being, so kind, caring, giving of herself to family, friends and all those she met following the careers of her children and husband. Always with a smile on her face and love in her heart. So thoughtful, appreciative, and loving. Thank you Teresa for always having time for all of us. No matter where you were supporting your family you always had a hello and you never forgot those that walked some of those same paths as you, Joe, Jordan and Jedd. Your love of life, for family and friends will always be remembered. You made a positive difference for all of us. God Bless You Teresa, Joe, Jordan and Jedd. With Love and admiration.

We didn't know your family well, but were huge supporters of Jordan attending meets all through her MCP years. Teresa was always there with her beautiful smile. Ever since, while following Jordan's career, Chuck would often see both of them or only Teresa at Kennedy Fitness -- always friendly and happy to talk about what was going on. We are so shocked and saddened by this news. Many thoughts and prayers are going your way.

They say a person is defined by the children he/she produces. I haven't meet Jedd, but have talked with Jordan on occasion. It's obvious she's an exceptional young lady, which speaks to type of person that Teresa was. Jordan will do well in carrying on her legacy. God Bless Joe, Jedd, Jordan and the entire family.

Dear Teresa,

This one is for you... Did I ever tell you how much I appreciated you bringing young Karsten home to us after he crashed his razor scooter while racing Jedd on Andre Dr.? I will never forget how calm and collected you were as you hand carried our badly scraped up boy not only to our home but all the way to his bed. You were never judgemental of the fact that he was wearing only a pair of shorts with no shirt or shoes.

Over the years, I had the pleasure of walking our dog through the neighborhood and witnessed you and Jordan delivering home cooked food to our elder Italian neighbor when his wife was ill and after she died. You were a great role model to your children and your big caring heart and legacy will surely live on.

I will remember your family's 4 wetsuits hanging to dry after you all went to the beach. No doubt, your spirit is now swimming in the ocean and running on the beach.

May your love and light continue to shine down on your family and inspire us all to live our lives by your example -- to the fullest. We will miss you!

Dear Joe, Jordan and Jedd,

It's been my pleasure to be your neighbor and friend for the past 16 years. Whenever I saw Teresa, she greeted me with her sweet smile and something nice to say. The day before her sudden and unexpected passing was no exception. Little did I know when we said hello to each other on Nov. 3rd that Teresa's life would sadly and tragically be cut short the following day... I am heartsick for your pain knowing the giant void left by her untimely departure. May your grief be comforted with your most cherished memories and may you feel her warm and gentle loving spirit with you always. I will remember Teresa for her love and devotion to her family, for her dedication to healthy eating, discipline to athletic fitness, and for being a meticulous homemaker who took great pride in all she did for you, including but not limited to her expert skills in doing laundry and making spaghetti! Teresa inspired us all with her kindness and I will miss her.

Your family is in our family's thoughts and prayers and we are all very sorry for your enormous loss.

With Love,
The Hall Family - Steve, Lori, Braeden and Karsten

The Hasay family has a very special place in my heart. Teresa would watch (for many years) over my shoulder to make sure I didn't cut too much off of Jordan's hair. She would always say, "just a trim, thank you Stace" as she smiled and quietly giggled. I enjoyed our chats, catching up on kids stories and her sweet, accepting spirit.
I will always remember Teresa as a kind, loving, devoted wife and mother. She will be deeply missed. My love and prayers to her family.❤
