William Bowen Obituary

1925 ~ 2010 Born in Bloomington, Ill., Bill Bowen passed away Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, in Cambria. He was raised in Erlanger, Ky., and served as a U.S. Marine at the battle of Guadalcanal in World War II. After his discharge, he moved to Los Angeles, where he attended the University of Southern California on the GI Bill. Following graduation he remained in Los Angeles and married Grace Tattu, starting first a family and then his own business, Canterbury Products. Moving his family and business to San Luis Obispo in the 1970s, Bill concentrated his considerable mechanical ability on printing wine labels and manufacturing both folding containers and dental products. After losing Grace in 1993, he married Rosemary Pisciotta and moved to Cambria. He spent an enjoyable retirement appreciating her painting, working on projects and traveling. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife, Rosemary; children Thomas Bowen; Maria Bowen and her husband, Charles; Chris Ann Jones and her partner, Jim; and Lisa Pisciotta and her husband, Dennis. He is also survived by grandchildren Lauren Bowen, Kristen Bowen, Gracie Bowen, Thomas Bowen Jr., and Sabrina Stewart; as well as many nieces and nephews. Donations in his honor can be made to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast.
