Gaylen Little

Gaylen Little passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his home.  Born in July 1951, he grew up in Redondo Beach, Calif. He graduated from Cal Poly University in 1974, where he met his future wife, Ann. They have lived in Atascadero since 1976.  Gaylen was a self-employed building contractor and had built Colony Park, the first commercial condominium complex in Atascadero, along with the first remodel of Century Plaza and the construction of Creekside Lanes, which was later converted to the current City Hall.  He also built Hidden Oaks Apartment Village, along with his business partner, Mike Zappas.  Gaylen's hobbies included bike riding, home brewing and barbequing.  Gaylen is survived by his wife, Ann; two daughters Stephanie and Jennifer Little, both graduates of Atascadero High school; along with his sister, Pamela (Little) Colley and her husband, Craig Colley; and two nephews Chris and Nic.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Colleen Little.  At Gaylen's request, no service will be held.  In lieu of flowers and to honor Gaylen's love of birds, please consider making a contribution to the National Audubon Society, Re: Little Memorial C/O Vera Melella, 225 Varick Street, Ste. 700, New York, NY 10014.
