Kevin Patrick Herber was born in October 1975, in Tucson, Ariz., and passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in Castro Valley, Calif. He spent his childhood living in Ankara, Turkey; Guam; Michigan and Riverside, Calif. He attended St. Joseph's High School and graduated from the University of San Diego. He moved to Arizona and worked in the communications field. Following that, Kevin moved to northern California, where he pursued his heart and passion in the culinary industry and excelled to a management position. All who came into contact with Kevin loved him. He will be truly missed. Kevin was a loving son, brother and uncle, with a giving spirit and a great sense of humor. He is now with God and enjoying everlasting life. Kevin is survived by his parents, Dr. Hobert E. Herber and Colleen Newgard Herber; brother, Brian Christopher Herber; sister, Christine Marie Herber; grandmother, Nancy Newgard Davies; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 800 Bello St. in Pismo Beach.
