Allyson Nakasone Obituary

Allyson Nakasone Allyson Nakasone, 54, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at her home in Morro Bay. She is survived by her loving mother, siblings, and beloved nieces, all of Orange County. After moving to San Luis Obispo in 1994, Allyson became an active member in the community. To everyone who met her, Allyson embodied altruism and integrity as well as exuberance and playfulness. Along with her sense of humor, Allyson's love of music was known by everyone she came in contact with. She was a self-taught guitarist who loved jamming with her friends. Allyson was loved and admired by all. After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Soil Science and a minor in Land Use, she combined her passions for environmentalism and serving the public to become a certified EcoBroker and realtor at Coldwell Banker Premier. Allyson had worked for or served on the Board of Directors of ECOSLO for nearly 20 years. At the time of her death, she was Chair of ECOSLO and working hard to build awareness and respect for that 40+ year old local organization. Besides ECOSLO, Allyson was devoted to environmental awareness, recycling, and worm composting, recycling, and more. She was a member of the Botanical Gardens and the UC Master Gardener program. Additionally, she worked hard in the battle for the right to marry for gays and lesbians, conducting workshops with information on why that right mattered. A Celebration of Allyson's Life will take place Saturday July 18, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm at the San Luis Botanical Gardens in El Chorro Regional Park. This will be a zero-waste outdoor potluck with music jam, so please bring pictures, memories to share, instruments, food and utensils. For more info, please contact her friend Melody at: [email protected]. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to ECOSLO, Allyson's favorite non-profit group. Allyson wrote a song in 1978 or 79 to her parents.."you are the balance to my center" Allyson and her brother Jeff became my center during a tumultuous time... My favorite memory came after she became her true self... Allyson was my first junior high school crush...her soul had a resonance and her aura was blinding in intensity. Born with a hole in her heart she knew life was precious and fought against the tides of time and rules of man. Independent, compassionate, curious, creative and musically gifted. She will forever have a place in my heart, her patches on the mosaic and that is my soul healed the sail that tatters but never tears. I wrote many poems and songs about her in my youth she will forever stand the Muse in my mind's eye. Safe travels truth teller. KMT... these heart stones remind me of her and others lost to time. A truer friend you can not find, simply put her passion was like a quided missle Lazer marked target and ready for any mission. I was going to wait until the 10 th anniversary, but there won't be many of us left then. So raise your glass, bottle and voices in song to Allyson-san yep she hated that..san is the masculine and sama is the honorific feminine. ..and so they left the place where they had shared time and space, empty as it was before their coming. And then there were none." KMSTSR '82 .....nothing compares to you Allyson ...Cheers to twice the rides in youth and finding love in truth. K.

Allyson was a remarkable person. I have never met anyone like her. She had the biggest smile and friendliest greeting whenever we met. I miss her. I still have her number in my phone and her email address. She was going to help me build a worm bin. There are never enough or the right words to express how special Allyson was.

It has been over two years since my sweet wonderful child left this world. It has taken me this long to get up courage to read the beautiful condolences posted here. Your words give me great joy that Allyson will continue to live in the hearts of so many. Thank you for your kind words of comfort and for your love and friendship. Allyson was with us too short a time, but it was filled with so much love and joy, and we were all touched by it. I was lucky, indeed, to have been a part of her journey. With a heart that is taking a while longer to heal....Hugs.

People like Allyson do not come into our lives very often... we thought we would have so much more time! From working together on events, to her showing us how to gather seaweed, to relaxing with music or discussing science or how to solve the world's problems; our interactions were fun, and productive and satisfying. While our hearts are so heavy for the loss--- we were So Lucky to have had her in our lives. Our deepest sympathy to her family....

Dear Allyson, you gave more of yourself to ECOSLO than anyone I've known in its past 44-year history. Julie and I send our deepest sympathy to the Nakasone Family and to your dear Terre. We all will miss your love, your smile, and your great enthusiasm as teacher and advocate in helping to save our planet. Dick & Julie Krejsa, San Luis Obispo, CA.
