Ed Rose born in Alameda,CA to Edward Alphonse Rose, Sr. and Edith Katherine Safford passed away after a short illness. He is survived by his wife Sandra Sparks of Chiloquin, OR, his sister Barbara Escobar of Castro Valley, and his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Rae Rose of Tucson, AZ. Ed was in Yuma, AZ hoping to resume golfing and riding his Harley when he passed.
As a young man he served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS St Paul. After his retirement from General Motors in Fremont and the University of California Santa Cruz, he took on other jobs including driving a tour bus, a school bus, and transporting RVs for RV shows. When not working he enjoyed bowling at Surf Bowl and riding his motorcycle with friends. After his marriage in 2001, he moved from Santa Cruz to eventually settling in Chiloquin, OR. He and Sandy began golfing in 2001 and it became one of his favorite past times along with RVing. Ed had a great interest in the science of the world and universe around him and loved debating it with a select few. He will be remembered as a good and considerate friend and brother and a loving husband.
A celebration of his life will take place at Boardwalk Bowl in Santa Cruz on June 23rd from 1:00 to 3:00. Friends are invited to bring pictures and stories to share.
