George Kellner(1922 - 2013)

George Kellner
July 8, 1922 - October 1, 2013
Resident of Aptos
George was born on July 8th, 1922 in San Francisco and lived a very colorful and adventurous life. George bravely served his country in WW2 as a strapping young Marine fighter pilot in the pacific theater. He loved to tell stories about his adventures during the war, particularly how he captured a Japanese officer and eventually became the owner of his prized Samurai sword.
After the war George became a financial advisor and worked with some of Hollywood's brightest stars. George was especially proud of the fact that he became friends with actor John Wayne and loved to show off his life-size oil painting of the Duke in his home.

Over the years George moved around and enjoyed life in various cities in California including Los Altos, Los Angles, Santa Cruz and Los Gatos however he had a special place in his heart for Aptos where he first met Kathleen whom he affectionately called "Kat".
George loved to tell stories and along with a wonderful sense of humor, you were sure to be entertained! All which will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter Marsha, his grandson Sam and his long love, Kat.
Memorial service will be held 2-4, December 8th, at
The Meadows in Los Gatos
